God's Two Revelation Witnesses Throughout history, many men have wondered about the "End Times", (a period of time which includes, among other things, the ascension of the Antichrist to power over the Earth and the "Great Tribulation"). During these End Times, the forces of evil will seem to triumph over the forces of good, as Christians are slaughtered throughout the world, many of them by beheading. Also, during the "Great Tribulation", the "Two Witnesses" of Yahweh will be sent by God to preach to the whole world for an extended period of time. ("Yahweh" and "Jehovah" are two possible pronunciations for the name of God in the Bible.) Discussions about the End Times should rightly include a discussion about these "Two Witnesses". Just who will these two men be, and where will they come from? Why will the Antichrist try for so many months to kill these two men, and yet not be able to succeed in these many attempts? Why will the Antichrist finally be allowed to kill these men after several months of their preaching to the whole world? What will happen to these two men after they are killed? These two men will speak God's truth while The Antichrist will speak his own wicked lies. As the Bible says, this Antichrist (Anti-Christ) will one day come onto the world scene. Throughout the centuries, various people have claimed that "this man" or "that man" was the Antichrist. The Antichrist was clearly none of these men from the past, because all of these men eventually died without completely fulfilling those things that the Bible prophesied would be true about the Antichrist. But who will the Antichrist be? Will he reign until the end of time? It is not possible to know for sure who the Antichrist is until he does one particularly wicked act, which will then reveal him as the real Antichrist. This act will be when the Antichrist enters into the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem and then pollutes it: "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." (Daniel 9:27) "And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate." (Daniel 11:31) Jesus Himself mentioned this prophesy by Daniel, which Jesus referred to as "the abomination of desolation". Jesus declared that this act by the Antichrist would signify the start of the "Great Tribulation", the most horrific period in the history of the earth: "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." (Matthew 24:15-22) The Great Tribulation will be proceeded by a period of time characterized by a great deception and a falling away from Biblical Truth throughout the world. This period of time, which we believe has already started, is called the "Great Apostasy". During this current Great Apostasy, leaders from the various religions of the world will start moving together in what is has been called the Great Ecumenical Movement. They will also move together towards the "Great Whore", (The Roman Catholic Church), in Rome. (One reason that The Roman Catholic Church is called the "Great Whore" in Revelation 17:1 is because of her long history of "spiritual fornication"). This Roman Catholic Great Whore, under the protection of the Antichrist, will then start to murder all true Christians, mostly by beheading. This is similar to what many Muslims now do to Christians, Jews, and others in various parts of the world, in obedience to the Koran. (Koran: "Strike off their heads till ye have made a great slaughter among them" - Sura 47:4): "So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth." (Revelation 17: 3-9) Although many Bapticatholics, New Evangelicals and others are now unashamed to link up with the Roman Catholic Church, they will have their heads removed at that time by the Antichrist with the help of his prostitute, the Roman Catholic Church. Nevertheless, many will have died already by that time and others may have been raptured as well. Still others who are "Left Behind" after The Rapture will take the "Mark of the Beast" and therefore give themselves over to eternal judgment and damnation in the Lake of Fire. But just who is the Antichrist? We will know when he enters one day into the Temple in Jerusalem and then pollutes it, as prophesied by Daniel the Prophet. Please keep in mind though, that the Temple in Jerusalem has not been built yet. Therefore, such an act would clearly have to come to pass some time in the future. There are billions of people living in the world today. Is the Antichrist one of these? We just can not know for certain who the Antichrist is at this time. As for the "Two Witnesses" of God who will preach during the Antichrist's reign on Earth, they will probably start their preaching ministry in Israel or some other part of the Middle East. These Two Witnesses will then preach God's Truth to an ungodly and rebellious world. Their ability to preach to the whole world will probably be made possible by the use of radio and television transmission via satellite, and also by broadband Internet access as well. These "Two Witnesses" of Yahweh in the End Times might include Elijah, Moses, Enoch, or two completely different men. We just do not know for sure their true identities. Nevertheless, these two men will preach boldly out in the open, without fear of the Antichrist or of his many followers. God will protect his "Two Witnesses" from all such attacks against them as they go about preaching God's Truth: "And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will." (Revelation 11:3-6) That the world will want these two men dead can be shown by what happens next. After a many months, God will finally permit these two men to be killed by the Antichrist. Nevertheless, the Antichrist will neither bury these men, nor allow others to bury them. Instead, the whole world will throw a huge party, celebrating the murder of these two righteous men. It will seem like "Christmas" or some other holiday as the whole world eats, laughs, and watches these two bloody bodies lie there on the street -- probably watching the corpses on TV or on the Internet: "And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth." (Revelation 11:7-10) Nevertheless, God will not yet have finished with these two men. Their bodies will lie on the ground for three days, under the constant view of the world's television cameras. After these three days of lying dead on the ground, these two men will suddenly come back to life and then stand up again, probably right on live television! These two men will then ascend up into Heaven, in plain view of the world, as people watch with the assistance of modern technological media. The world, of course, will be quite shocked to see this happen to these two godly men before their very eyes. Nevertheless, the Great Tribulation will continue upon the Earth, with a great earthquake occurring that very hour in Jerusalem. The Antichrist will also continue speaking his lies and blasphemies against God. The world will likewise continue to follow the Antichrist as well: "And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven." (Revelation 11:11-13) The reign of the Antichrist over the world will only last for a few short years. Jesus Christ will then come back to the Earth at the Mount of Olives, destroy the Antichrist, and then reign over the Earth for a thousand years. After this thousand year reign, the current Heavens and Earth will be destroyed. God will then create new Heavens and a new Earth, and time as we now know it will be no more. We will then be living in Eternity!
